What are the most common questions about Morpheus8?

1) How does Morpheus8 work?

Morpheus8 combines micro needling with FDA approved fractional radiofrequency. Morpheus8 technology uses pins (up to 5mm) to penetrate the subdermal tissue, creating a localised tissue response. Part of this response stimulates the production of collagen and elastin fibres which regenerates and tightens the skin, giving a more radiant youthful appearance. In addition, the heat delivered from the tip of the pins causes fat coagulation and contraction leading to fat recontouring.  This overall treatment targets fine lines & wrinkles, acne scars, improves skin tone and texture. Unlike some non-surgical cosmetic procedures, Morpheus8 works well on all skin tones with minimal risk of post inflammatory pigmentation.

2) What areas can Morpheus8 treat?

Radiofrequency micro-needling with Morpheus8 is bespoke to individuals, as this technology uses four different tips which penetrate and deliver energy at different depths. This technology enables these tips to be used in different treatment areas to target deep fat layers and resurface and tighten more superficial layers of the skin.

The following problem areas can be targeted with Morpheus8:

  • Sagging skin on the lower face, jawline, neck and body
  • Jowls underneath the chin and jaw creating a more defined jaw line
  • Fine lines, wrinkles and creases on the lower face and neck
  • Prominent forehead lines
  • Excess fat under the chin
  • Reduce pore size
  • Stretch marks
  • Reducing acne scars
  • Dull and uneven complexion
  • Loose or lax skin anywhere on the body

3) What is involved during the treatment?

Initially topical local anaesthetic will be applied to the treatment area of concern for approximately 45- 60 minutes. This process is crucial to ensure you are comfortable during the delivery of the procedure. You may experience slight pricking sensation from the microneedles this is due to the action of the pins penetrating and delivering heat into the subdermal tissues. Overall, Morpheus8 treatments are very well-tolerated, and most patients describe the sensation similar to plucking your eyebrows. On average, the entire procedure can last 15 minutes up to an hour, depending on the size and number of areas being treated.

4) What aftercare is involved with Morpheus8?

The greatest advantage of Morpheus8 is the minimal downtime. Many of our patients can resume their daily routines the next day after treatment. However, based on the level of treatment and your individual skin type you could experience swelling, redness and bruising, which is self-limiting and usually resolves within a week. It is advised to avoid direct sun light exposure for four weeks after the treatment and makeup should be avoided for 48-72 hours. One of our doctors will discuss and give a full description of our post treatment care tips to aid in your recovery.

5) How many Morpheus8 sessions are required?

Sessions required can vary depending on each individual’s requirement, however routinely we recommend three consecutive sessions of Morpheus8 spaced 4-6 weeks apart to achieve the maximum benefit. After that, maintenance is recommended with one session every 12-18 months.

Your doctor will create a treatment plan for you during your initial consultation at our London Barnet and Marylebone clinics.

6) How quickly are results seen with Morpheus8?

As Morpheus8 creates localised trauma which stimulates natural collagen production, results will take time to mature. You may notice a difference almost immediately, but results will continue to improve up to 3 months after treatment. To achieve the best results, we recommend maintaining intervals between each session at 4-6 weeks apart.

7) How much do Morpheus8 treatments cost at our clinics?

Our morpheus8 sessions start from £350-£900 for one session. Discounts are applied when purchasing a package of 3 sessions per body area. Please visit our price page for further details.
